Greetings. I'm Steve Barker, a proud British author from the quaint town of Shanklin, nestled in the serene landscapes of Isle Of Wight, England. Growing up amidst such natural beauty instilled in me a profound admiration for the world around us.

Following my education, I felt a calling to the military. In 1979, I took the courageous step of enlisting in the British Army, embarking on a journey that would shape my life. Stationed with the Royal Green Jackets in Winchester, I immersed myself in training and gained invaluable experiences that would influence my future pursuits. By 1982, after completing my training, my military service led me to Cambridge, where I proudly served with the esteemed 3RGJ. I eventually left the army in 1989.

Inspired by my own experiences and the love of travelling, I eagerly delved into the creation of my first two books, immersing myself with boundless enthusiasm in the captivating world of cruising. Through these works, I shared my deep-seated passion for the open seas and demonstrated my knack for compelling storytelling and painting vivid scenes that come alive on the page.

However, my writing journey took a significant turn during my time at Combat Stress in April 2019. It was during this period of introspection that I penned "Poetry from the PTSD Mind," a profoundly personal collection that beautifully encapsulates my journey and battles. This work resonated deeply with readers, was hailed as a poignant exploration of the human experience, and garnered critical acclaim.

During a transformative period of my life, my love for storytelling truly blossomed.
